Last week, we attended Digital Health Rewired where the key topics around the show floor revolved around the crucial role of digital solutions in advancing the delivery of quality care and support in the healthcare sector.

The recurring theme throughout the summit was the emphasis on how digital technology will significantly influence the future of healthcare.

• The opening session led by Devesh Sinha, CCIO at Barking, Havering and Redbridge NHS FT on the Digital Leadership and Teams stage, focused on the challenges faced by front-line teams leading digital transformation projects and highlighted the need for alignment between digital initiatives and quality standards, as he emphasised how front-line teams are under intense pressure due lack of resource and time.

• The importance of data accuracy and accountability in driving healthcare system transformation was underscored throughout the event. Digital transformation across healthcare will require a greater focus on the quality and relevance of data to meet its goal of revolutionising healthcare.

• International perspectives were shared on fostering a culture of continuous improvement within healthcare organisations, stressing the value of learning from global counterparts.

Throughout the event it was great to see the subject of nurturing the next generation of digital leaders within the NHS being readily discussed. Technology solutions are only as good as the people leading this change to enhance healthcare practices across the board.
